Department of Health Data
The Covid-19 Daily Statistics for Northern Ireland are shown as reported by the Deaprtment of Health. The information reported by DoH refers only to the number of tests for the SARS-COV2 virus at 9am each day.
Until 23/06/2020 information on the outcome of completed laboratory tests is only available for HSC Trust Labs (Pillar 1). From 24/6/2020, the NI Department of Health have added the results of tests conducted outside HSC Trust Labs to their analysis; this includes tests from Regional Testing Centres, Mobile Test Units, and home testing kits, from 28th April onwards (Pillar 2). Results on this dashboard reflect this change.
Pillar 1: Testing by HSC Trust laboratories
Pillar 2: Samples taken at Regional Testing Centres (the SSE Arena, City of Derry Rugby Club, Craigavon Test Centre, St Angelos Airfield - Enniskillen), mobile testing units, and by patients in their own homes
Note on testing numbers: 03/07/2020. The DoH dashboard advises that they have corrected double-counting of individuals who had both a Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 test; numbers tested and numbers positive are lower as a result.
Deaths associated with COVID-19 are deaths of individuals that had a positive result for SARS-COV2. Data on Covid-19 deaths is refreshed on a daily basis to include any deaths that have been reported during the current reporting period (i.e. from 9.30am on the previous day until 9.30am on the day of reporting).
Delays in reporting can cause the number of COVID-19 cases reported on previous days to change. The ongoing validation of the data occasionally results in changes to the previously published figures. For more details on data provision and quality, go to www.health-ni.gov.uk -
HPSC Data
The Covid-19 Daily Statistics for Ireland are shown as reported by the Health Surveillance Protection Centre. The figures are updated on a daily basis, with the latest record reporting the counts recorded at 1pm the same day. Note that the Health Protection Surveillance Centre have advised that in the process of validating data and reviewing addresses, cases may be reassigned to another county. For more details go to https://data.gov.ie/dataset/covidstatisticsprofilehpscirelandopendata.
Note: Between 05/04/2020 – 19/04/2020, the daily number of COVID-19 events notified in Ireland is inflated due to batch reporting of cases with specimen dates between from 19/03/2020 – 01/04/2020 in addition to real-time reporting of cases with contemporaneous specimen dates -
Google Covid-19 Community Mobility Reports
The Community Mobility Reports show movement trends by region, across different categories of places. The baseline is the median value, for the corresponding day of the week, during the 5-week period Jan 3–Feb 6, 2020. The datasets show trends over several months with the most recent data representing approximately 2-3 days ago—this is how long it takes to produce the datasets. Place categories:
1. Grocery & pharmacy: mobility trends for places like grocery markets, food warehouses, farmers markets, specialty food shops, drug stores, and pharmacies.
2. Parks: mobility trends for places like local parks, national parks, public beaches, marinas, dog parks, plazas, and public gardens.
3. Transit stations: mobility trends for places like public transport hubs such as subway, bus, and train stations.
4. Retail & recreation: mobility trends for places like restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, theme parks, museums, libraries, and movie theaters.
5. Residential: mobility trends for places of residence.
6. Workplaces: mobility trends for places of work. -
Apple Covid-19 Mobility Trends Reports
This data is generated by counting the number of requests made to Apple Maps for directions in select countries/regions, sub-regions and cities. The availability of data is based on a number of factors, including minimum thresholds for direction requests per day. A relative volume of directions requests per country/region, sub-region or city compared to a baseline volume on 13 January 2020. Data that is sent from users’ devices to the Maps service is associated with random, rotating identifiers so Apple does not have a profile of individual movements and searches. -
